Calling former Advanced Course Students!

Looking for worthwhile conducting CPD? Want to reconnect with SfP?
Why not join us on the Advanced course at our 60th Anniversary Summer School!

Finding meaningful training as an experienced conductor isn’t easy. Taking part in the advanced course, perhaps after some time away from SfP, offers an ideal way to reflect on your practice, develop new skills and gain meaningful training that’s directly relevant to choral  conducting.

This year’s course repertoire ranges from church music by Orlando Gibbons to part songs by Samuel Barber led by advanced tutors Don Gillthorpe and Sarah Tenant-Flowers. The big choral work is a new commision: Twelve Trees by SfP’s very own Katy Lavinia Cooper, featuring a movement for each month of the year, represented by a different tree and weaving in foklore and legend. The premier of this work for choir and orchestra will be conducted by Advanced course students and sung by all summer school participants. Please do consider signing up for the Advanced Course. We would love to have you there.
