To celebrate our 60th anniversary, SfP are holding a very special singing day at this fabulous Stoller Hall in central Manchester, for Primary School aged children.

There are two workshops to choose from:
1. Workshop for Years 1 – 3: 10.15am – 11.30am
2. Workshop for Years 4 – 6: 1.15pm – 2.30pm

Each school, is invited to bring along children to one of the above sessions. Each session will be led by internationally recognised experts from our staff team and accompanied live by a professional, three-piece band.

At this special event we aim to inspire and empower teachers, with each school receiving a digital resource pack prior to the day. This will include a specially commissioned song by Suzzie Vango to learn in advance of the day. You will receive supportive materials including audio tracks, lyrics and teaching notes. All other songs will be taught on the day.

Teachers will benefit from seeing the very best practice as our tutors model the SfP technique in teaching new songs. Children will very quickly be singing in parts, making a great sound and thoroughly enjoying the experience of singing together in a large choir with a fabulous band.

Cost & Booking:
Children’s tickets are £2.00 per child. Teaching/accompanying staff are free but must have a ticket. Travel costs are to be met by individual schools. Places will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis.

About Sing for Pleasure

Sing for Pleasure is the oldest national choral organisation in the country and has enjoyed a close relationship with the Greater Manchester and Blackburn with Darwen Music Hubs over many years. Bolton Music Service hosts the National Office and one of our 3 conductor training weekends is delivered at the Xaverian College in Rusholme, Manchester each November. Many experienced SfP tutors are based in the Manchester area where they work closely with the music colleges, schools and many different choirs in a variety of settings across the region. SfP is committed to raising the standards of singing within class and choir with well-chosen appropriate material.
