The ability to sight read is not essential but pupils should have experience of singing in a choir or be learning to play an instrument.
Children can come in a group with their teacher or as an individual. Plenty of staff will be on hand to supervise those who attend without an adult. There is no cost for accompanying teachers.
Each day starts with registration and warm ups at 9.30am and ends at 3.15pm. The course ends with a concert on Friday at 2.00pm for family and friends.
Forest Arts Centre, Hawbush Rd, Walsall, WS3 1AG
The Forest Arts Centre in Walsall is home to the Walsall Music Education Hub which is kindly supporting this event. The venue is well situated, close to J10 of the M6 and has plenty of parking.
The course is being generously supported by John Lewis Partnership. The cost per child is £65 for the week which includes all activities, music and refreshments. Children should bring a packed lunch and bottled water each day.
We will do everything we can to ensure the safety of children and staff, and we will have Covid procedures and social distancing measures in place throughout the week, as required at the time.
Full refunds will be issued if the course is cancelled in advance due to COVID regulations. However, in accordance with the event terms and conditions, Sing for Pleasure is not liable in the event of participants being required to self-isolate (either due to a positive test or test and trace contact). As such, we strongly encourage all participants to take out relevant insurance to ensure they are covered in this eventuality.
