We’re tweaking our 4-day format this year, piloting a more flexible approach to better suit our participants. We’re running short courses in Glasgow, Liverpool and Maidenhead.
Glasgow:
Essentials 4-Day Course [Booking closes on Friday 17 April]
Levels 1&2 3-Day Course [Open to returning participants – email marketing@singforpleasure.org.uk for further information!]
Beginning on Saturday 18 April
Liverpool:
Essentials 4-Day Course
Delivered over four Saturdays – 16 May, 27 June, 26 September, 24 October
Maidenhead:
Essentials 2-Day Course
Delivered over the weekend of 6-7 June
Each day starts with a warm-up session at 10.00am after which participants engage in a programme of technique and workshop sessions. The day ends at 4.30pm. Refreshments are included and participants are invited to bring their own lunch.
Sing for Pleasure’s courses for choral conductors and vocal leaders are delivered in two ways: technique sessions include practical demonstrations of all the key aspects of conducting, and the workshop sessions that give participants an enviable amount of podium time to put into practice what they have learnt. Our methodology has an emphasis on planning and preparation, effective and efficient teaching and rehearsal support through the use of expressive and economic conducting gestures to develop well rounded and adaptable musical leaders.
The Essentials Course is for anyone who is new to Sing for Pleasure, and is running at all three of our venues. The course builds an understanding of our key principles of training and introducing our core conducting techniques. At Glasgow ONLY, returning participants can also apply for Level One and Level Two. (Please email marketing@singforpleasure.org.uk if you’re interested).
