Assistant to the Head of Learning

The Assistant to the Head of Learning (AtHoL) is a voluntary role suitable for those who have developed an understanding and empathy for SfP through its events and courses and who wish to contribute to its growth and future success. The successful applicant will gain hands-on experience of running a modern arts organisation. The role will include the following (but is not restricted to this list):

Conductor training administration – key responsibilities:

  • Document Management: Support HoL in preparation, formatting and proofreading documents, reports and presentations.
  • Maintain and organise physical and digital filing systems, including conductor training
    records, participants’ lists and bursary applications.
  • Data entry: Accurately enter and update information into databases and spreadsheets, including conductor training records and our bursary spend tracker.
  • Support: Assist with general administration tasks pertaining to the delivery of conductor training within SfP, requested by HoL.
  • Support external consultancy work where required.

General attributes for assistant roles:

  • Assistants will be professional, reliable and are expected to take a proactive approach towards the overall wellbeing of the charity at both regional and national level.
  • Assistants should show an understanding of the ethos that underpins SfP and its francophone A Coeur Joie parent movement, the fostering of good relationships between all humans and the breaking down of all barriers through the promotion of singing together in as accessible a manner as possible.
  • Assistants should have a good working knowledge of the most popular IT applications, particularly the Google platform and its applications and be able to manage their workload as independently as possible.
  • Assistants will handle confidential personal and financial data and will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement prior to commencing the role. The assistants must be very discreet.
