Appointment of Trustees

Sing for Pleasure: Appointment of Trustees

Sing for Pleasure (SfP) is seeking new voluntary Trustees to join the Board after recent retirements.
The Board meets four times per year—three meetings are virtual, one is in person—scheduled at mutually convenient times. Trustees may also attend events or activities organised by SfP, such as weekends or our Summer School, to observe operations. Occasionally, Trustees contribute based on specific expertise or personal interests.
We seek individuals with any of the following:

  • Financial skills
  • Fundraising experience
  • Legal knowledge
  • Interest in choral singing
  • Charity governance understanding
  • Commitment to music education

Trustees oversee the work of Sing for Pleasure (SfP), ensuring it fulfils its charitable mission. They use their skills and experience to support SfP’s goals.

There are six responsibilities for Trustees:

  • Ensuring SfP carries out its purposes for the public benefit
  • Adhering to SfP’s governing document and applicable laws
  • Acting in the best interests of SfP
  • Managing SfP’s resources appropriately
  • Exercising reasonable care and skill
  • Maintaining accountability for SfP

Further details regarding the role of a Trustee are available on the Charity Commission website.

A informal chat will then be scheduled with Miles Wallis-Clarke, Chair of Trustees.
