Sing for Pleasure has launched a new fundraising initiative inviting choirs, singing groups, and event organisers to make it their designated charity.
The scheme offers a flexible and impactful way for groups to support the development of choral conductors and vocal leaders—ensuring the benefits of singing are accessible to communities across the UK and beyond. Whether through a one-off concert, a seasonal series, or ongoing support, groups can now raise funds to help Sing for Pleasure continue its transformative work.
“Great vocal leadership is the key to unlocking the full potential of group singing,” said Miles Wallis-Clark, Chair of Trustees. “By choosing Sing for Pleasure as your designated charity, you’ll be helping us nurture the next generation of conductors and support choirs of all kinds—from school and community groups to professional ensembles. We rely on the generosity of individuals and organisations to continue this vital work, and every contribution makes a real difference.”
Fundraising options include:
– Dedicating a single concert or event
– Making Sing for Pleasure the annual or ongoing beneficiary of your performances
– Adding a voluntary or compulsory donation to ticket prices
– Using collection buckets (with QR codes for digital payments)
– Hosting related activities such as auctions or bake sales
Organisers can collect donations via their own platforms or use online fundraising tools like Give as you Live. Sing for Pleasure also provides branding materials, donation flyers, and templates to make participation easy and effective.
With over 2.4 million people singing regularly in more than 40,000 choirs and singing groups across the UK, the scale and diversity of the choral community is extraordinary. By supporting Sing for Pleasure, you’ll be helping to fuel its growth—ensuring that choirs of every kind continue to thrive, led by confident, skilled, and inspiring conductors.
